Travel insurance vital for ‘Silver Travellers’ according to ABTA
Friday 9th May 2008
A recent Foreign Office survey found 20 per cent of the over-55s took risks on holiday above what they would normally do at home & on their last trip abroad 65 per cent of over-55s took out no travel insurance.
Understandably, travel insurance is more expensive for older people, particularly those with pre-existing medical conditions, but it is considered to be even more important for this age group.
The Association of British Travel Agents (Abta) but said it would be "very foolish” for over-55’s not to take it out.
