Balance Transfers

A credit card balance transfer allows you to move your credit card balance from one credit card to another. They are often seen as a fantastic way of saving money on your credit card bills as most credit card companies have introductory offers of an interest free period on balance transfers to all new customers. You may also transfer balances from multiple credit cards or store cards to a single card for debt consolidation to help you pay less.

How can I transfer my balance?
When your application for a new credit card is accepted you are allowed to transfer your existing card balance by providing your existing card and supplier details to your new card supplier. Some card suppliers ask that you make the transfer request as soon as your card is received in order to be eligible for the introductory rate.

Will I be charged a fee for the balance transfer?
Some credit cards and credit card companies only offer balance transfers in exchange for a fee.
